Water well-being for everyone
Did you know that there is a thermal aqua center for the public in Janské Lázně? It is open in the afternoon and evening every day, on weekends and holidays. Legend has it that the warm healing spring was discovered at the foot of Černá hora by the armorer Jan z Chockov.
This should have happened in 1006. Although historians tend to believe that it was discovered much later, the name associated with Jan has remained with the spring. And not only with him, it subsequently also went to the spa and the town. If you want to experience the beneficial effects of Jan's spring for yourself, head to the Aquacentrum.
Those arriving by car can park either at the Forest House, in the central parking lot by the cable car or directly in front of the Aquacenter (but only if they are guests and patients of the spa). You can reach the building on foot according to the navigation arrows. The building is also connected to the Terra hotel.
Two springs in one pool
Visitors to the Aquacentrum can primarily use the rehabilitation pool filled with healing mineral springs. These are the aforementioned Janův pramen and the Černý pramen, both from the spring in Rudolf's Valley, which, by the way, is so abundant that it also supplies water to the Vesna Children's Hospital. Immersion in the pool is extremely pleasant, the water is 27 °C. The irregularly shaped tank covers an area of 230 m2, and since it is 1,2 to 1,5 meters deep, swimmers and non-swimmers, adults and children, will enjoy their stay in the water. Those who come in the evening can enjoy the underwater colored lighting. Thanks to it, the entire area of the rehabilitation pool acquires a very welcoming atmosphere.
As in similarly modern facilities, the Janská Lázně Aquacentrum also features massage and bubble beds, water curtains, countercurrents and two whirlpools - the outdoor one is heated to 32 °C. Lovers of Finnish saunas and steam saunas will find their place, and there is naturally also a cooling pool.
Tailor-made procedures
For relaxation, regeneration and detoxification of the whole body, visitors can visit the wellness centre. Experienced masseurs are ready to provide a classic massage to relax muscles and joints, which will give you energy, as well as a special Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage.
Its purpose is to induce deep relaxation, harmonize, dissolve blockages and uplift the soul. The popular hot stone massage helps detoxify, relieves stress, and supports vital energy. The bamboo massage, performed using oil and bamboo sticks, will take care of the lymph drainage. It has restorative and drainage effects, and also supports the fight against cellulite. The aroma massage will bring perfect relaxation, eliminating fatigue and mental discomfort thanks to essential oils.
Paraffin on the hands will be appreciated by people with musculoskeletal pain and the need to improve blood circulation in the skin. Finally, let's mention peloid - a bag of warmed peat that provides beneficial heat to muscles and tissues, loosening and relaxing them.
When to go for adventures
There is always a good time to visit the pool, stay in the sauna or have a great massage. Autumn and winter days are perfect for them. It gets dark early, and the weather is not always conducive to long walks. An afternoon or evening spent actively "by the water" under a roof brings mental relaxation, a better mood, strengthening the muscles of the whole body and improving immunity. The effect can be multiplied by taking a sauna or supplementing it with a massage.
The Aquacenter is open from 4 pm to 9 pm. In the winter season (from January 1st) it is open from 1 pm to 9 pm, as well as on weekends and holidays.
Visitors can book massages at the reception. As for the price list, the entrance fee to the swimming pool or swimming pool and sauna world depends on the season. A significant reduction in price can be achieved by purchasing a season ticket. Children from 1 to 2 years old, as well as holders of ZTP/P, their companions and spa patients pay half price. Younger children are not allowed to enter the Aquacentrum for safety reasons. All necessary information about the Aquacentrum offer is on the page Aquacenter.
