(Janske Lazne, April 18, 2019)  The gradual replacement of steam distribution systems with hot water distribution systems was officially launched yesterday by ČEZ Teplárenská with the director of the Janské Lázně State Medical Spa Martin Voženílek by cutting the ribbon. Construction work began at the end of March. The total investment is estimated at approximately 100 million crowns.

The steam pipeline is owned by the spa and leased by the energy company for a long time. The reason for the replacement, which is scheduled for completion in 2020, is the obsolescence of the steam pipeline and heat loss.
"KDue to the change in the heating medium throughout the city, the heat exchanger stations in the spa buildings must also undergo reconstruction. Their modification will also involve the modernization of the distribution systems, some of which are thirty years old.", said the spa director Martin Voženílek, adding that new technologies will bring savings in heat consumption and improve the quality of services to accommodated clients. "It will also include data interconnection of new technologies and centralization of information about the operation and condition of exchangers at the technical department workplace."," added Petr Janovec, manager of the spa's technical department.

Repair of roads and central kitchen

The reconstruction of the steam pipeline into a hot water pipeline will bring another significant effect, and that is the modification of the road running through Janské Lázně. The first to benefit from the new road will be residents and visitors coming from Svoboda nad Úpou along road III/2961 to Janský Dvůr on the square in Janské Lázně. Next year, this new section will be connected to the repaired part of the road at the lower station of the Černohorský Express cable car.
The State Medical Spa will take advantage of this situation in 2020 to carry out an extensive reconstruction of its spa catering operations. "We have to respond to the transition to hot water heating by replacing some of the gastrotechnologies that are currently dependent on steam supply. At the same time, we plan to unify the kitchens into one – in the Vesna Children's Hospital. This will bring us great savings in operating costs, significant energy savings and, of course, modernization of the catering equipment.", said Petr Janovec. He added that the spa is now preparing a task for the analysis and development of the project for this large-scale event. "The implementation of the entire plan and its fulfillment will depend on the announced subsidy titles, because we will have to allocate money for co-financing. Clients and visitors to Janské Lázně will be informed about the whole matter."," added director Martin Voženílek.
