Rehabilitation
The rehabilitation department provides comprehensive spa treatment, which includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, physical therapy and magnetotherapy, massage, speech therapy and robotic rehabilitation. It also uses Snoezelen, inhalation and consultations with a psychologist. "Our spa treats respiratory diseases, musculoskeletal diseases, conditions after injuries and operations, nervous and neuromuscular diseases including cerebral palsy, conditions after oncological diseases. We place the greatest emphasis on an individual approach to the patient, education for home rehabilitation. At the same time, we allow patients to consult with specialist companies regarding compensatory aids such as strollers, wheelchairs, verticalization stands, special chairs and the possibility of providing prosthetic equipment, i.e. orthoses, shoe inserts and the like,"explains Ilona Demuthová, physiotherapist at the Vesna Children's Hospital.
In terms of equipment, the rehabilitation center has, for example, devices for robotic rehabilitation, for physical therapy, for local cryotherapy, magnetotherapy, and the like. Clients can also use motor splints. "We work with the methods of the Bobath concept, Vojta reflex therapy, BPP according to Čápová, SM-system according to Smíšková, Kabat's method–PNF, we use exercises in the Redcord suspension system and, within the framework of occupational therapy, basal stimulation and Snoezelen," says the physiotherapist.
The rehabilitation department has 34 employees. They include physiotherapists, rehabilitation nurses, masseurs, occupational therapy assistants, an occupational therapist, a pediatric rehabilitation nurse, and a procedure scheduler.
