From the square, as a starting point is Art Nouveau Colonnade. You will head in the direction Vesna Children's Hospitalfrom where you can climb to the ridge directly or via a gradual path through Rudolf ValleyYou will return to the center of Janské Lázně by passing the lower cable car station. Interesting facts:
Rudolf's Valley is named after Crown Prince Rudolf of Habsburg, who visited Janské Lázně in July 1876, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Battle of Trutnov. The reward for climbing the Middle Ridge will be a place with a beautiful view of the spa town and Černá hora. After the Middle Ridge, you can comfortably walk to the famous excursion spot, Hoffman's Huts with the original inn.

Interesting facts:
Luisa's path is named after Countess Aloisia Czernin-Morzinová, who contributed to the flourishing of the Vrchlabské and Maršov estates in the second half of the 19th century. The construction of the 2-meter-wide walkway to the bottom of the Pardubické bouda, then Kühnelova bouda, took 5 years. In 2003, the KRNAP administration carried out a demanding repair of the first bridge and the lower part of the walkway in the most interesting parts of Těsný důl, 600 m long. You will see the smaller cascades of the Černohorský stream on the way. The largest waterfall, up to 4 meters high, can be found at the end of the route, about one and a half kilometers long. The path before the second bridge is for more able tourists. Sturdy shoes and sportswear are required.
In Janské Lázně, visit the unique treetop trail opened in 2017, which is one of the longest in Europe and leads underground to an educational center with a tree root system.
The route, which is more than 1500 m long, will take you through a forest rich in species, where numerous surprises and lessons await you. You will be captivated by the view from the 45-meter-high tower , thanks to which you will have the forest mohicans within arm's reach, some of which are over 150 years old.

The second largest area of the ČERNÁ HORA – PEC SkiResort, Pec pod Sněžkou , is also connected to the area on Černá hora (Janské Lázně) by ski tour thanks to SkiTour. In the area in Pec you will find the modern detachable four-seater chairlift ZAHRÁDKY EXPRESS , which replaced the anchor lift at the Zahrádky ski slope. The area is suitable for both sports and recreational skiing and snowboarding. It offers 12,5 km of slopes and ski attractions such as the Funline with banked turns and an 8 m long tunnel, or timed tracks for downhill and giant slalom (TS1, MS1). You will also find a Funpark and a Snowpark with obstacles and jumps.
Night skiing offers the widest lit slopes in the Czech Republic - you can also ski under artificial lighting on the U lesa slope.
The smallest of the five interconnected ski areas of SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC is the area in Svoboda nad Úpou and is ideal for families with small children and for beginners thanks to the well-arranged slopes. The FordBar terrace in the lower part of the area will be especially appreciated by non-skiing family companions. Here too, you can test your speed and skiing skills on the giant slalom track with timekeeping (MS3). In the evening, it is possible to ski on the Duncan 1 and Duncan 2 slopes under artificial lighting.
Ski pass for the entire SkiResort
A single ski pass is valid for the entire SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA – PEC in all five ski areas. There is a special tariff for evening skiing.
Services for visitors and spa guests
You can visit many restaurants and cafes in the city. During the day, spa clients can enjoy the Venetian Hall bistro in the Spa House, which is open from the morning. In the Aquacentrum, guests can sit in the Aquabar or on its outdoor terrace, which is open from 17:30 p.m. The city also has a cinema , post office, pharmacy, minigolf and of course an ATM (ČSOB), which can be found in the Spa House building.
Every Wednesday evening, the Relax bar by the Colonnade plays live music (rock, pop, folk) for listening and dancing. The Black Hill music bar regularly organizes a disco with a DJ several times a week.
An interesting experience is a visit to the sales gallery in the stylish Magma house above the Evangelical church, where small utility items, home accessories and souvenirs made of cut stones elevate natural materials into magnificent artifacts through precise processing. In the Bosorka art workshop you will have the opportunity to make a souvenir for yourself and your loved ones. In the Ostrov dobré nějady shop you can purchase items of contemporary Czech design from original artists and craftsmen.
You can take the modern Černohorský Express cable car to Černá Hora in both summer and winter seasons . At its upper and lower stations, you can rent scooters and conquer Černá Hora in an unconventional way.
In the town you will also find a bike and ski rental . Near the lower station of the cable car you will find a rope park with a baby park for smaller children. Your children and grandchildren will certainly appreciate a visit to the Muchomůrka Farmapark with natural play elements and especially with domestic animals.
The Krkonoše Treetop Trail , which is within walking distance of 2 kilometers from the city center, offers unique bird's-eye views and leads underground to the tree root system.

The State Medical Spa Janské Lázně respects the spiritual and religious values of patients when providing healthcare.
Spiritual care is offered to every patient in the hospital, medical staff, and patient companions and visitors. It provides spiritual accompaniment (conversation and silence, reading the Bible and other literature, prayer, meditation, etc.) to all those in need, regardless of their faith or worldview.
A meditation room is set up for spiritual services, located in the main corridor (ground floor) connecting the Spa House and Terra/New Pool buildings . This room is used for providing spiritual services according to your individual agreement. Please inform the reception in Janský Dvůr about the use of the room.

History of Janske Lazne
Janské Lázně got its name thanks to a healing thermal spring, discovered according to the chronicle by the lord's squire Jan of Chockov in 1006.
The first reports of the use of thermal water for bathing date back to the 14th century, when the owner of the Silberstein estate had a primitive spa facility established here for the needs of his family. The founder of the spa, which is one of the oldest in Bohemia, was Jan Adolf Schwarzenberg in the 17th century. The oldest surviving medical report on Janské Lázně dates from that time (J. Hettmayer 1676), written by the provincial physicist of the Margraviate of Moravia.
In 1675, the construction of the first spa buildings, which also bore their Czech name – Svatojanské Teplice, began. In 1920, the spa with all its facilities, land and springs was taken over by a joint-stock company, and a period of greatest development of Janské Lázně began.
The spa gained world fame in the first half of the 20th century, when successful treatment of the consequences of polio began here . Janské Lázně became the first treatment center for the consequences of polio (poliomyelitis) in Europe at all. Our spa successfully continues this tradition, quality and experience even today.
