General information

The program is intended for pediatric patients under 18 years of age with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy who have a request for medical rehabilitation care in a specialized medical institution (OLÚ). The subject of this program is comprehensive intensive health care in the fields of rehabilitation and physical medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, clinical speech therapy and clinical psychology, provided in total for a minimum of 4 hours a day.

Two stays are prescribed per OLÚ proposal, each lasting 28 days. Both must be carried out within a period of no more than 12 consecutive months with a minimum interval of 6 months. These two stays form one cycle of comprehensive intensive medical and rehabilitation care. Both stays must be completed at the Vesna Children's Hospital.

Patient Inclusion Criteria

The patient is able to receive the required volume of comprehensive intensive medical and rehabilitation care for at least 4 hours a day in the fields of rehabilitation and physical medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, clinical speech therapy, and clinical psychology.

The following assessments are performed on the patient, once at the beginning of the first stay and once at the end of the second stay in these areas:

  • Motor skills and mobility (Gross Motor Function Measure – GMFM-88 assessment),
  • Cognitive and executive functions
  • Communication and swallowing disorders – clinical examination by a clinical speech therapist (for children with speech or swallowing disorders)

At the end of the second stay, a reassessment will be carried out and if the specified values ​​are met, the patient can be included in the next cycle of the two-stay system.

Procedure for arranging neurorehabilitation for patients with DMO

A specialist doctor or pediatrician can recommend spa or medical rehabilitation care at the OLÚ to a patient. The relevant proposal for the type of care is issued by the doctor who recommended the treatment stay.

A proposal for this type of treatment program is prescribed by a specialist doctor or pediatrician, as a proposal for medical rehabilitation care in a specialized hospital (OLÚ) based on the recommendation of the attending physician - an outpatient specialist.

The doctor recommends the Vesna Children's Hospital in Janské Lázně on the proposal, where treatment can be obtained, and sends the proposal to the patient's health insurance company. He indicates on the proposal that it is treatment day OD 00035The change of the Proposal for rehabilitation care in the OLÚ to neurorehabilitation care can also be proposed by the head physician of the hospital, if the conditions are met.

The reviewing physician of the relevant health insurance company assesses whether all conditions for approval of the proposal have been met. If necessary, he/she adjusts the validity of the proposal and the facility where the treatment can be obtained. The insurance company sends the approved proposal directly to the facility listed first in the list, i.e. the Vesna Children's Hospital.

Care in the OLÚ must begin no later than six months from the date of approval of the proposal by the reviewing physician, unless the reviewing physician determines otherwise.

The date of arrival is determined by the medical facility depending on the available capacity and the validity of the proposal. The client is invited in writing no later than 14 days before arrival with an invitation letter with the date of arrival.

Accommodations

The health insurance company covers standard accommodation, i.e. a bed in a room without superior equipment. Superior accommodation or equipment can be ordered for an additional fee listed in the price list of supplements. The number of superior rooms is limited. Superior accommodation is not available for unaccompanied children.

Children are accommodated directly in the Vesna Children's Hospital building. The spa building and room type are primarily determined by the spa based on the child's health condition, taking into account current occupancy.However, if you wish to stay in a specific building or room category, please contact our admissions office as soon as possible after receiving the initial information, which will inform you of the current options.

Eating and diets

Meals for clients are provided in the dining room in the Vesna or Réva building, depending on the place of accommodation. On the day of arrival, lunch is served from 11: 30 do 14: 00 hours and dinner from 17: 00 do 17: 30 hours. Breakfast ends on the day of departure. From the following day of stay, an individual choice of at least two types of food is possible for lunch and dinner (with the exception of diets).

All diets must be reported upon receipt of confirmation of acceptance of the proposal to the spa's nutritional therapists at dietkavesna@janskelazne.comIf dietary restrictions are not reported, it is not possible to provide a diet in the first days of the stay, and the child may not be accepted for the stay.

The price of special diets for companions or clients who have not been prescribed by a doctor is listed in the price list.

The special spring stay combines spa wellness and spring activities. It also includes a gondola lift ticket and a ticket to the Treetop Walk.
